Hotel Kintetsu Universal City, an official hotel of Universal Studios Japan located in Osaka's Konohana Ward, is set to mark its 25th anniversary on July 18, 2026 (Saturday).
To celebrate the milestone, the hotel launched its year-long interior decoration project "Colorful Pop Journey - 25 Years of Smiles" on April 7, 2026 (Tuesday), with festivities continuing throughout the year.
The concept treats the hotel's 25-year history as "one journey," creating a celebratory space filled with gratitude to all guests who have visited, along with anticipation for the future ahead. The entire hotel has been transformed into a stage for a "colorful journey," with colors, wind, and the beloved Sesame Street characters from Universal Studios Japan coming together in a pop and uplifting world.

Celebrating 25 Years of Travel, Coloring the New Departure Ahead
With "Journey" as the key theme, the hotel's 25-year history is envisioned as a "colorful pop journey," and each guest's memories are reimagined as "a story of travel," expressed as a rail extending into the future.
Motifs such as trains, trunks, and hot air balloons symbolize the connection between past, present, and future. The space is designed so that visitors can overlay their own memories with the stories yet to come.
The color palette features 7 colors tied to the 25th anniversary commemorative logo, each carrying meanings such as "smiles," "hope," "adventure," and "gratitude," conveying a festive and forward-looking spirit.
The gold of the anniversary logo is placed throughout the space as "proof of the journey," blending classic elements with pop colors — positioning this anniversary not as a look back, but as "the starting point for the next 25 years."

The entrance is designed to evoke a classic train station, symbolically representing "a departure point connecting past to future."
Gold from the 25th anniversary commemorative logo forms the base of a colorful gradient, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere. Sesame Street characters welcome guests at the entrance, ushering them into the hotel's 25th anniversary story.
Photo Spot
Matching the hotel's American comic-style aesthetic, the photo spot features a three-dimensional design that makes it look as if a train is about to leap out. Sesame Street characters dressed in bow ties appear in festive attire, and the spot is designed as an experiential area where guests can enjoy photos as "fellow travelers" on the journey.
Lobby
A large "25" numeral object greets guests as a symbolic centerpiece. Trunk decorations represent the start of a journey, while hot air balloons carrying Sesame Street characters evoke "a skyward journey into the future."
The entire hotel serves as the stage for the "Colorful Pop Journey" story, delivering a memorable anniversary experience to all who visit.
25th Anniversary SNS Campaign
To mark the hotel's 25th anniversary, a giveaway campaign is being held on the official Instagram account (@hotelkintetsu_universalcity).
To enter during the campaign period, participants must: ① follow the official account, ② like the target post, and ③ leave a comment. Winners chosen from all eligible entries will receive prizes including hotel accommodation vouchers, restaurant meal vouchers, and in-hotel use coupons, with a total of 25 winners.
