Hotel Metropolitan Kawasaki's in-house all-day dining restaurant, "Terrace and Table," is launching a new summer dessert: "Adult Night Shaved Ice" (大人の夜かき氷). Available only during evening hours, the menu debuts on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, starting at 8:00 PM.
"Adult Night Shaved Ice" Overview
The shaved ice is made using natural spring water ice from Miyashita Seihyo Reizou (宮下製氷冷蔵), a company established in Meiji 33 (1900). The ice is sourced from a deep aquifer in the Shinshu region, shaved into a light, snow-like texture, and paired with a whipped condensed milk cream made from Hokkaido milk — with rum liqueur added for a distinctly grown-up finish. Guests can also enjoy rum poured on top as they eat, ensuring the rich, fragrant aroma lasts until the final bite.
Two flavors are available: red fruit and matcha.
Rum-Scented Red Fruit Shaved Ice
A raspberry sauce with a bright acidity and vibrant aroma is layered with a rum-infused whipped condensed milk cream, creating a blend that melts in the mouth.
Rum-Scented Matcha Shaved Ice
A slightly bitter matcha sauce made with Kyoto Uji matcha is paired with sweet red bean paste using Hokkaido-grown azuki beans. Caramelized walnuts add a satisfying crunch as an accent.
