Hotel Resol Hakodate Marks the Hakodate Port Festival With a "Port Festival Enjoyment Stay" Plan

Hotel Resol Hakodate, a tourist hotel under the "Resol Hotels" brand operated by Resol Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Mobara, Chiba; President: Naoto Sano), is located at 6-3 Wakamatsu-cho, Hakodate, Hokkaido. To coincide with the Hakodate Port Festival, one of the city's signature summer events, the hotel is holding a special plan for guests called the "Port Festival Enjoyment Stay" on August 1 (Saturday) and 2 (Sunday), 2026.

During the two-day event, guests can enjoy a breakfast buffet featuring squid dishes referenced in the lyrics of the "Hakodate Squid Dance" song, free access to the hotel's top-floor restaurant as a fireworks viewing spot, festival-style stalls set up in front of the hotel, a chance to join hotel staff for the "Hakodate Squid Dance," and a giveaway of original fans. Two Days to Enjoy the Hakodate Port Festival to the Fullest, With a Stay Centered on the Iconic Hakodate Squid Dance

The Hakodate Port Festival is one of Hakodate's signature summer events, first held in 1935. Among its highlights is the "Hakodate Squid Dance," performed during the citizen parade "Wasshoi Hakodate." Built around Hakodate's famous squid, dancers move through the streets to an upbeat chant of "ika-sashi, shiokara, ika-somen" (squid sashimi, salted squid, and squid noodles), making it a beloved seasonal tradition across generations.

Hotel Resol Hakodate created the "Port Festival Enjoyment Stay" to help build excitement around the Hakodate Port Festival and to make the celebration easier to enjoy for first-time visitors to Hakodate and guests from overseas. With hotel staff on hand to help guests join in the "Hakodate Squid Dance" and an original fan featuring an illustrated guide to the dance moves, the plan turns the festival from something to simply watch into something guests can take part in.

Resol Hotels is built around the concept of "hotels with a story," offering stays where guests can enjoy the culture, food, and people unique to each destination. Through projects like this one that let guests experience the appeal of the local area, the brand aims to bring guests memories they can only find on their travels.
