Limited-edition barrel colors for the JETSTREAM Standard and the JETSTREAM New 3-Color Ballpoint Pen from Mitsubishi Pencil go on sale in limited quantities on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The release marks the 20th anniversary of the JETSTREAM series in Japan, and the four colors were decided by user votes on social media.
The two models are available in four barrel colors each: Khaki Brown, Beige Brown, Sheer White and Two-Tone Pink. The JETSTREAM 20th Limited 8P Assortment, which brings together all eight limited products from both models, goes on sale at the same time.
About the 20th Anniversary Colors
The JETSTREAM series is known for its smooth writing feel. It first went on sale in Japan in 2006 with the Standard model, and has since expanded into a range of products including multi-color, multi-function pens. Worldwide sales of the series are 100 million pens a year or more.
To mark the 20th anniversary and thank existing users, as well as to introduce the series to people who have not tried it yet, 10 candidate barrel colors were put to a vote on social media. The candidates were inspired by fashion and divided into five categories. More than 10,000 votes came in, and four popular colors were adopted. The lineup runs from casual-looking colors to calmer ones, making the pens easy to match with fashion and everyday items.
The four colors are applied to two models: the JETSTREAM Standard, a long-seller that is also reaching its 20th year, and the JETSTREAM New 3-Color Ballpoint Pen, whose black ink alone has a rear-end knock so that black can be selected intuitively.

JETSTREAM Standard
A classic single-color model with a streamlined body that expresses the same smoothness as when the series launched in 2006. This version is fitted with a 0.5 mm ball refill that is easy to use in a wide range of situations.
JETSTREAM New 3-Color Ballpoint Pen
A 3-color ballpoint pen that focuses on the ease of use of black, the most frequently used of its three ink colors (black, red and blue).
- Only the black ink uses a rear-end knock mechanism, so it can be knocked without hesitation.
- The black ink comes with a "long-lasting refill." The refill tube is thinner, which keeps the same shape and compatibility as the standard SXR-80 refill while holding about 70% more ink than the standard product. The thinner tube also uses about 30% less plastic than the standard product, making it an environmentally considerate design.
