The Little World Museum of Man (Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture; Director: Kohei Ikai) will open two new spots on September 5, 2026 (Saturday) as part of its "food" and "experience" offerings: "Tohoku Chaya," a restaurant introducing the rich food culture of the Tohoku region, located next to the "Yamagata: House at the Foot of Mt. Gassan" exhibit, and "American Adventure Valley," a new area within the North America Area where visitors can experience 19th-century American-style hunting and gold prospecting.
Tohoku Chaya: A New Restaurant Sharing Tohoku's Food Culture
The new restaurant "Tohoku Chaya" is designed with the calm, relaxed atmosphere of a traditional teahouse, ideal for a break during your visit. Guests can also enjoy its dishes inside the adjacent open-air exhibition house "Yamagata: House at the Foot of Mt. Gassan," making it possible to experience both the taste and atmosphere of Tohoku together.
At the heart of this comfortable space are mochi (pounded rice cakes) and dango (dumplings), dishes beloved throughout the rice-growing Tohoku region. The signature menu draws inspiration from the diverse mochi food culture rooted in the Ichinoseki area of Iwate Prefecture. Alongside nostalgic regional favorites, the restaurant also offers original creations that combine Tohoku's specialty products. Enjoy Tohoku's distinctive flavors, where tradition and novelty come together in a refined setting.
American Adventure Valley: Experience 19th-Century America
"American Adventure Valley" is a new experience area themed around Native American hunting culture and the 19th-century Gold Rush.
The area offers a range of activities, including "Bow Hunting" (an archery game), "Blowgun Hunting" (a blow-dart game), and "Gun Hunting" (a shooting game) that let visitors take on the role of a hunter, as well as "Treasure Hunting" (a gem-hunting activity) for those chasing an adventurer's dream of striking it rich.
By recreating the hunting and prospecting once practiced across North America, the renewed area invites visitors to immerse themselves more deeply in its distinctive history and culture. This new style of activity promises to captivate visitors of all ages, from children to adults.
Due to preparation work ahead of the new spots' opening, the affected shops will be temporarily closed and access to the surrounding renovation areas will be restricted.
Details on the menu and experience attractions will be announced separately in late August.
