Little World Open-Air Folk Museum in Inuyama, Aichi is holding a special four-day event called "Ainu Week" on April 11 (Sat), 12 (Sun), 18 (Sat), and 19 (Sun), 2026, offering visitors a chance to experience Ainu culture.
The event takes place in the "Hokkaido Ainu House" area — a historically significant building that completed restoration work at the end of January 2026, made possible through crowdfunding support. This area serves as the stage for traditional Ainu dance performances.
Visitors can also try playing the traditional Ainu instrument, the mukuri, and enjoy Hokkaido cuisine including venison (jibier) dishes. Additionally, a sale of Hokkaido souvenirs and Ainu goods will run from April 11 (Sat) through April 19 (Sun).
For full details, see the Little World event page.
