A collaboration project pairing French football club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with Astro Boy, the beloved character created by manga artist Osamu Tezuka, has produced three collectible figures crafted in different materials by Japanese artisan brands. Hiroshima-based furniture manufacturer Maruni Mokko, founded in 1928, contributed a walnut wood sculpture to the lineup.
Astro Boy Expressed in Three Materials

The project brings together three makers, each working in their own tradition: soft vinyl specialist SECRET BASE, which has been producing character figures from Ura-Harajuku since 2001; Maruhiro, a ceramics brand rooted in the 400-year-old Hasami ware tradition of Nagasaki Prefecture; and Maruni Mokko, which has pursued the industrialization of craft since its establishment. Through these different materials, Astro Boy is reimagined as new products combining Paris Saint-Germain and the classic character.
PSG Maruni Mokko Wood Astro Boy
Price: ¥198,000 (excluding tax: ¥180,000)
Quantity: Limited to 15 pieces
Material: Walnut

Maruni Mokko's contribution is a wooden Astro Boy figure carved and shaped from walnut, using the cutting and polishing techniques developed through the company's furniture-making. The rounded form and fine detailing are finished carefully, resulting in a smooth surface texture characteristic of natural wood. Because natural wood is used, the grain and appearance differ from piece to piece, making each of the 15 figures unique.
PSG Maruhiro Ceramic Astro Boy
Price: ¥154,000 (excluding tax: ¥140,000)
Quantity: Limited to 15 pieces

This Astro Boy figure was produced by Maruhiro using Hasami ware, the traditional ceramic craft of Nagasaki Prefecture with over 400 years of history. Despite a size and structure that would normally make free-standing difficult, the piece was realized through the combined skill of multiple craftspeople.
PSG SECRET BASE Soft Vinyl Astro Boy
Price: ¥33,000 (excluding tax: ¥30,000)
Quantity: Limited to 115 pieces

SECRET BASE, a soft vinyl brand that has been creating character products from Ura-Harajuku since 2001, sculpted the original prototype for the Astro Boy figure. This prototype also served as the base for the wood and ceramic versions.
