Minamichita Beach Land & Minamichita Toy Kingdom (Okuda, Mihama-cho, Chita-gun, Aichi; Director: Mamoru Ishido) is holding an event to learn about ocean environmental issues from July 17 (Fri) to July 31 (Fri), timed to coincide with Sea Day on July 20 (Mon, national holiday).
During the event, quiz-style panels introduce ocean-related environmental issues under the theme "Aquarium x Environmental Issues." On Sea Day itself, keepers will lead an environmental issues guide and hand out limited-edition can badges. The event is designed to help visitors learn about the situation surrounding marine life and feel that ocean environmental issues are closer to home.
1. Learn About Environmental Issues at the Aquarium: Protecting the Sea — SOS from Marine Life
Special panels have been set up to clearly explain ocean environmental issues that are worsening on a global scale. Presented in a quiz format that both children and adults can enjoy, the exhibit is designed to help families deepen their understanding of environmental issues together. It also features a display of real marine debris that has washed up on Okuda Beach in Mihama-cho, right next to the facility, along with an upcycled art exhibit made from sea glass collected on the beach. Visitors can experience what "we can do right now" to protect the beautiful ocean and the creatures that live in it.
Event period: July 17 (Fri) to July 31 (Fri), 2026
Price: Free (separate admission fee required)
Location: Inside the Aquarium Hall
2. Special Sea Day Program: An Environmental Issues Guide by Keepers
On Sea Day itself, July 20 (Mon, national holiday), keepers will lead a special guide. Drawing on the ecology and real examples of the aquarium's animals, keepers will explain the current state of marine debris and plastic pollution happening behind the scenes of the beautiful ocean, and the serious impact it has on marine life. In this special 10-minute session, visitors can directly learn how our daily lives affect life in the sea, helping them see ocean environmental issues as more personally relevant.
Date: July 20 (Mon, national holiday), 2026, 11:30 AM (approx. 10 minutes)
Price: Free (separate admission fee required)
Location: Inside the Aquarium Hall
3. Limited Giveaway: Sea Day Can Badges

Visitors who add the facility's official LINE account as a friend can receive a limited-edition sea turtle can badge.
