Minami-Chita Beach Land Hosts "Sea Lion Birthday Festival" Starting June 13

Minami-Chita Beach Land in Mihama Town, Aichi Prefecture, is hosting a "Sea Lion Birthday Festival" from June 13 (Saturday) to July 14 (Tuesday), 2026. The event celebrates a series of birthdays among the park's California sea lions, with four special programs planned across the period.

Born at the park in June 2025, one-year-old Ichiha will make her public event debut during the festival. Alongside her, seasoned show performer Yotsuba and long-time resident Night are also celebrating milestones, while a three-generation family tree spanning nine sea lions is showcased in a dedicated panel exhibition.

Event Details

① Ichiha's Feeding Time

Ichiha, who turns 1 year old on June 14, will appear in front of guests for the first time during this feeding event. Visitors can watch her eat while a keeper shares stories about her birth and growth.

Dates: June 13 (Sat) and 14 (Sun)
Time: 2:30 PM (approximately 10 minutes each day)
Location: Dolphin Stadium

② Yotsuba's Birthday Sea Lion Show

Yotsuba, a star of the park's regular shows, turns 11 on June 17. The Dolphin Stadium will be dressed up in a birthday theme for a special version of the sea lion show, where guests can celebrate the occasion together.

③ Feed Night / Birthday Special Ver.

Night is turning 15 on June 18. During this feeding experience, guests can offer three fish instead of the usual two as a birthday treat. On June 18 only, a commemorative photo session with Night is also available.

④ Panel Exhibition: "The Proud Sea Lion Family"

A panel exhibition introducing the family tree of all nine California sea lions currently living at the park, accompanied by rare photographs. Spanning three generations, the display highlights the history and bonds built through years of dedicated care.
