Namba Hikari Tabi (なんば光旅), the winter illumination event of Osaka's Namba area, will be held from Friday, November 13, 2026 to Sunday, February 14, 2027. Now in its 15th year, the event decorates the Namba area with about 1 million LEDs every day from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Viewing is free.
The illumination spreads across Namba Parks, Namba Parks South, Namba CITY (なんばCITY), Namba Skyo (なんばスカイオ), Namba Carnival Mall (なんばカーニバルモール), Tsutenkaku Tower, Parks Street (パークス通り), and Takashimaya Osaka (髙島屋大阪店).
New This Year: Tsutenkaku Tower Joins
Tsutenkaku Tower is added to the Namba Hikari Tabi area for the first time. From Friday, November 13 to Friday, December 25, the 108-meter-tall tower is styled as a giant Christmas tree with special limited-time lighting based on Christmas colors.
At Namba Parks, projection mapping is shown at the Green Stage on the 8th floor, where visitors can sit on the green hill and enjoy the fantastical images on the wall. The video content changes with the seasons. A new area on the 9th floor, Hara-ppa Plaza (はらっぱ広場), projects countless moving stars onto the lawn.
Other highlights include the 18-meter Waterfall of Light, which runs from the 9th floor down to the 2nd floor and is a popular photo spot every year, and the Sparkling Meadow in white and gold. A large Christmas tree made with Loss Flower® (ロスフラワー®), flowers that would normally be discarded, has also been renewed with a new design.
The event is part of the Greater Namba Concept (グレーターなんば構想). By lighting up Namba at night, it aims to offer a fulfilling experience to everyone who visits or spends time in Namba.
