About the Pâtissier and Chocolatier
Born as the fourth generation of a long-established pâtisserie and boulangerie in the historic city of Liège, Belgium, he honed his skills by helping with the family business from childhood. He graduated from confectionery school in just one year instead of the usual three, trained in France, and opened his workshop in his hometown of Liège.
Pierre Ledent's chocolates shine like jewels. This is achieved through advanced tempering (temperature control) technique, a challenge in making bonbon chocolates.
His passion for chocolate is evident in the thin, delicate coatings that preserve the gorgeous, soft texture, and the use of carefully selected nuts, fruits, and spices from around the world.
The chocolates are named after attractive women he has encountered throughout his life.
Beyond chocolate, he creates macarons and frozen desserts, continuing to challenge himself not only as a chocolatier but also as a pâtissier.
Pierre Ledent's chocolates appear in Japan only during Valentine's and White Day. Signing events at department stores are so popular they draw long lines, with passionate fans who collect packages and catalogs.
