This year again, the "Wa no Hikari" illumination event will be held at the Important Cultural Property former Sasagawa family residence (Sasagawa-tei) in Minami Ward, Niigata City, from Saturday, September 27 to Sunday, October 19. During weekends and holidays throughout the period, the venue will have special evening hours from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
The event features various light-themed performances and exhibitions, including projection mapping displayed on shoji screens and garden illumination, work exhibitions by middle school students, new creations using optical technology by students from Niigata University's Faculty of Engineering, and light boxes created by children.
When you step into this historic residence, "Sasajii" (the spirit of Sasagawa-tei) who has lived there since ancient times will appear and invite you into the fantasically illuminated evening mansion.
Please visit the enchanting Sasagawa-tei where the dignified atmosphere merges with light!
Special events will also be held in the sunken hearth room during the period.

Additionally, an Instagram sharing campaign is being held to let many people know about the Sasagawa-tei "Wa no Hikari" event!
Seven winners will be randomly selected from campaign participants to receive 2kg of "Le Lectier," a specialty fruit of Minami Ward. Winners will be contacted separately via direct message.
