Seizan Golf Course (located in Karuizawa, Kitasaku District, Nagano Prefecture; General Manager: Yuko Kageyama) is opening its course free of charge for "Parent-Child Lawn Enjoy Day" on Sunday, August 23, 2026, giving children the chance to play freely on its expansive natural lawn. Held continuously since 2021, the event was created to give families a special, open-air experience on a lush golf course that is normally hard to access, helping to build summer memories together. On the day, a range of activities that make use of the wide lawn will be available, including snag golf and footgolf. Course maintenance machinery will also be on display with demonstrations, giving children a chance to learn about the work involved in running a golf course.
This year, "Dog Walk on the Lawn" will be held at the same time, letting visitors take part together with their dogs. Walking on the spacious lawn can help ease dogs' stress and check on their health, while also deepening the bond between pets and owners. With a view of Mount Asama and the refreshing air of the highlands, guests can spend the day feeling the nature of Karuizawa together with family and pets. Through the event, the course hopes to build familiarity and interest in golf, and create an opportunity to grow the number of people playing the sport and discover new ways to enjoy it.

Guidelines:
- Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, and the leash must not be let go of.
- The area available for use is limited to No. 9 hole at Seizan Golf Course.
- Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
- Eating, drinking, and playing golf are not allowed on the course. The entire course is non-smoking.
- The course cannot be held responsible for any trouble or accidents on the premises.
- Please present proof of combination vaccination (5-in-1 or higher) and rabies vaccination at reception.
*Certificates must be from within the past year.
- Dogs are not permitted inside the clubhouse or on the greens and in the bunkers on the course.
About Seizan Golf Course
Seizan Golf Course opened in 1961 and offers an 18-hole, Par 70 course laid out on flat terrain south of JR Karuizawa Station. The course, known for its Karuizawa scenery including views of the majestic Mount Asama, allows fairway drive-in throughout the season. Start intervals are set at 10 minutes for groups of 1 to 2 players and 20 minutes for groups of 3 to 4, letting golfers enjoy a relaxed round on a flat course with wide fairways separated by larch tree groves. The course also welcomes entire families onto the grounds, including a "Dog-Accompanied Round," and visitors can use just the restaurant without playing golf, allowing non-players to enjoy a relaxed time as well.
