Two new ready-to-drink (RTD) tea-based alcohol beverages — "Ochanokosaisai (Green Tea Mix)" and "Ochanokosaisai (Black Tea Mix)" — from Suntory will launch in the Tohoku region (Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Yamagata, and Fukushima prefectures) from May 19, 2026, for a limited period.
The new drinks join a growing lineup of tea-based RTD beverages. Non-carbonated and sugar-free, both varieties are designed to pair easily with meals and suit a wide range of occasions.
About the Drinks
Ochanokosaisai (Green Tea Mix)
Crafted with fragrant domestic matcha and a "matcha and gyokuro-infused spirit," this drink delivers the full, rounded flavor characteristic of quality Japanese green tea.
Ochanokosaisai (Black Tea Mix)
A hidden dash of "orange peel distilled spirit" complements the depth and finish of the black tea base. The result is a drink with the bright fragrance of Earl Grey and a smooth, gentle aftertaste.
Packaging and Name
The packaging features tea leaf motifs and glass illustrations to evoke the appeal of tea, while a distinct "tea butler" character accompanies each variety. The labels also clearly highlight the "no sugar, no carbonation" quality of both drinks.
A TV commercial for the brand is scheduled to begin airing in the Tohoku region from May 16, 2026, introducing "Ochanokosaisai" with the tagline "Flip it over, and you'll be pleasantly surprised with the taste."
