Tachikichi's New Hagiyaki Pottery Series "Urara" Launches on March 1

Gentle Forms Inspired by Soft Spring Sunlight

The "Urara" series features gently rounded forms and the natural warmth characteristic of ceramic pottery. Each piece transitions subtly in color from soft pink to milky white — a delicate gradation unique to Hagiyaki. The name "urara" evokes the warm, hazy quality of spring sunlight, a feeling reflected in every piece.

Handcrafted Flower Petal Rims and the Soft Tones of Hagiyaki

The rims are shaped in a "rinka" form, spreading out like flower petals, with each piece finished carefully by hand. Clear glaze applied generously to the interior brings out delicate crackle patterns (kanyuu), while the natural movement of the glaze creates a distinct character in each individual piece — no two are alike.

For Daily Use and Spring Entertaining

The pieces are well-suited for tea time and dessert courses, sitting naturally alongside both Japanese wagashi sweets and Western-style pastries. The medium bowls and individual plates also work well for spring vegetables and seasonal ingredients, adding a quiet accent to any table setting.
