Three Taiwanese Brands Launch Spring-Limited Products for Mind and Body Balance in Japan

This spring, three Taiwanese food brands are releasing new seasonal items designed to support both mind and body during a time of change. Taiwan Ten Shouten, wanna manna, and Banka — all operated by Grace Co., Ltd. — are each approaching the theme of "Restoring Balance with Taiwanese Cuisine" from a different angle: drinks, soups, and sweets.

Spring is a season when new beginnings and shifting environments can take a toll on both mood and health. These new offerings draw on Taiwan's food culture to provide everyday options that are easy to incorporate into daily life.

Taiwan Ten Shouten: Spring Tapioca Drinks

Taiwan Ten Shouten, a specialty store for Taiwanese cuisine and sweets, is releasing spring-limited tapioca drinks using seasonal ingredients. The lineup features Taiwan-grown strawberries and cherry blossom to capture the spirit of the season.

Spring Strawberry Milk Tea

The store's most popular sweet milk tea, made with Taiwan-grown Assam tea, is paired with tangy Taiwan-grown strawberry jam from Dahu, Miaoli County — one of Taiwan's premier strawberry-producing regions. The jam is coarsely crushed to deliver a fresh, just-picked flavor. Fresh-cooked tapioca completes the drink, with whipped cream piped on top to blend in for a creamier finish.

Cherry Blossom Milk

A special cherry blossom syrup is poured generously into the cup, followed by freshly cooked tapioca and rich milk. A soft cherry blossom whipped cream topping adds a springtime flourish. Mixing the syrup and milk together evokes the feel of sitting under cherry trees in full bloom.

wanna manna: Taiwanese Breakfast for Inner Balance

Taiwanese breakfast set at wanna manna

Taiwanese breakfast café wanna manna is spotlighting a food tradition deeply rooted in Taiwanese culture: eating warm soups and congee to care for the body from within. In Taiwan, this practice is observed year-round as a way to maintain balance and wellbeing — a habit the café brings to Japan.

The Taiwan Mana Soup Set centers on xian doujiang (鹹豆漿), a classic Taiwanese breakfast made by adding black vinegar to warm soy milk to create a soft, curd-like consistency. The set also includes two daily rotating side dishes and a daily rotating drink. Upgrading from xian doujiang to Taiwanese congee is available for an additional ¥200.

Banka (万華), a Taiwanese confectionery specialty store with its main shop on Osaka's Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street in Minamimorimachi, is launching a new mini pound cake series at its Banka1220 Takashimaya Osaka location. These bite-sized cakes pair Taiwanese teas, fruits, and almonds with the expertise of a dedicated Taiwanese confectionery shop, designed to elevate spring tea time.

Honey Pine

A rich batter made with longan (ryugan) honey from Taiwan is paired with sweet-and-tart Taiwan pineapple paste. The aromatic depth of the honey and the characteristic tartness of Taiwanese pineapple come together in a single piece.

Almond (Xingren)

Almond powder is generously kneaded into a moist dough, topped with a light, crumbly topping that creates a pleasant contrast in texture alongside the natural almond fragrance.

Fig & Oriental Beauty

A two-layer design features Taiwan's iconic Oriental Beauty (Dongfang Meiren) tea and longan honey dough, with dried figs layered inside. The refined sweetness of longan honey, the fragrant Oriental Beauty tea, and the textural pop of dried figs create a playful yet refined taste.
