Surrounded by 550 Sunflowers — A Sky-High Summer Escape at Tenbou Park

With another scorching summer on the horizon, Sunshine 60 Observatory's Tenbou Park — an indoor sky garden perched 251 meters above sea level — is set to become a refreshing retreat from the heat. From July 9 (Thursday) to August 31 (Monday), the space will be adorned with roughly 550 sunflowers, around 200 wind chimes (furin), and approximately 50 wind wheels (kazaguruma), creating what the venue calls a "sky-high summer escape."

Event Highlights

1. Sunflower, Wind Chime, and Wind Wheel Photo Spots

The 360-degree sunflower photo spot in the Tenbou no Oka area lets visitors step into what feels like a full-bloom sunflower field — all without worrying about sunburn or sweat. After sunset, the interior dims and the illuminated sunflowers glow softly, setting a romantic summer night scene.

A separate photo spot featuring wind chimes and wind wheels adds a nostalgic, quintessentially Japanese summer atmosphere, complete with the cool, gentle sound of the chimes.

A discounted Night Pair Ticket — valid for two people entering at 7:00 PM or later on any event day — is also available for those who want to enjoy the night view from the observatory.

2. Limited-Edition Drinks at Tenbou Park CAFE

Tenbou Park CAFE will serve two special cream soda varieties inspired by the observatory's daytime and nighttime views, available only during the event period.

Double Cream Soda — ¥1,350
Two cream sodas in a single cup, each representing a different time of day at Tenbou Park. Both are melon-flavored, yet subtly different — perfect for sipping and comparing. Two long straws are included so couples or friends can share.

Ohisama Cream Soda — ¥700
A vivid green and blue cream soda inspired by the Tenbou no Oka area. Stirring it together reveals a nostalgic melon candy–like flavor.

Otsukisama Cream Soda — ¥700
A purple gradient cream soda evoking the night view from Tenbou Park. The flavor recalls that classic melon ice cream.

Alcoholic drinks are also available throughout the event, including draft beer, highball, and two original cocktails:

Twilight Mango Tea Sour — ¥880
A specialty sour with the sweet mango flavor and tea fragrance of a glowing twilight sky.

Moonlight Lemon Sour — ¥880
A gentle, mildly sweet lemon sour as crisp and clear as moonlight.

A special ticket combining observatory admission and one alcoholic drink is available for guests entering at 4:00 PM or later on any event day.
