THE LAST STORE® and KODAK Lenses Team Up for Custom Vintage Eyewear Event at Hankyu Umeda

From July 8 (Wednesday) to July 14 (Tuesday), 2026, Hankyu Umeda Main Store's 1st floor Kotokoto Stage 11 will host a special order-made eyewear event: "ザ・ラストストア2026【天上天下唯我独尊】-貴方の為に変容する ''特別な調光レンズ'' のお誂え会-," a collaboration between vintage eyewear specialist THE LAST STORE® and photochromic lens maker KODAK Lenses. At this limited-time event, guests can pair one-of-a-kind vintage frames with photochromic lenses custom-matched to their skin tone and personal taste, creating a truly bespoke piece.

From an extensive collection of vintage frames, professional stylists recommend the perfect pair for each individual guest. The service goes beyond frame shape — stylists coordinate lens color to complement each person's skin tone, offering a complete head-to-toe look.

Photochromic Lenses That Change from Your Favorite Color to Your Favorite Color

The event features KODAK Lenses photochromic lenses, which darken in response to UV light. They function as sunglasses outdoors in bright sunlight while keeping a lighter tint indoors or at night for a refined, polished look. What sets these lenses apart is the ability to customize the color transition — rather than a standard fade, guests can choose the colors they want the lenses to shift between, from one favorite hue to another. Prescription options are available, and the lenses are finished with a natural anti-reflective coating that avoids the greenish tint common in standard coatings.

Live Lens Crafting Performance

A dedicated on-site lab will be set up in the venue. The lens crafting process — usually done behind the scenes — is performed live by artisans in white lab coats right in front of guests. Visitors can witness the entire process of a single pair of eyewear coming to life, engaging all five senses.
