Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Japan (KKDJ) is teaming up with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie — the new animated action film produced by Illumination and Nintendo, set for release on April 24, 2026 — to offer four limited-edition collaboration donuts at all KKD locations nationwide. The donuts go on sale from Wednesday, April 8, 2026, and will be available for a limited time. As part of the collaboration, the Shibuya Cine Tower store will also transform into an immersive movie-themed space during the campaign period.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is the follow-up to The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023), which earned over $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office. KKDJ is marking its 20th anniversary in Japan with this collaboration, bringing donuts and experiences inspired by the film's adventure world.
The Four Collaboration Donuts
The new lineup features three donuts themed around popular characters — Mario, Yoshi, and Luma — plus a fourth inspired by the iconic Question Block from the Super Mario universe.
Mario Strawberry
Sales period: April 8 – May 26, 2026 (while supplies last)

A ring donut coated in red strawberry icing in Mario's signature colors. It's topped with red and blue sprinkles evoking Mario's outfit, star-shaped sugar sprays for a galaxy feel, and finished with a Mario cap pick.

Yoshi Custard Egg
Sales period: April 8 – May 26, 2026 (while supplies last)

Designed to look just like a Yoshi Egg, this donut is coated in white chocolate and topped with a green oval plate chocolate that mimics the egg's pattern. Inside is a custard cream made with Hokkaido milk.
Luma & Blueberry Galaxy
Sales period: April 8 – May 26, 2026 (while supplies last)
Price: ¥410 (eat-in: ¥418)
Starring Luma, a key character in the film, this donut captures the mysterious atmosphere of the galaxy. A white chocolate base is layered with pink strawberry and yellow pudding-flavored coatings to represent the cosmos, then topped with a blueberry nappage, silver dragées for a starry glimmer, and a colorful Luma monaka wafer.

Question Block Box (1 Donut)

Packaged in a square box designed to look like a real Question Block, this donut comes with a custard-flavored coating and colorful sprinkles. The surprise element: a random item pick from five possibilities — Yoshi Egg, Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, Ice Flower, or Red Shell — just like opening a real Question Block.

Shibuya Cine Tower Store Transformation
During the collaboration period, the Shibuya Cine Tower location will be decorated with characters from the film, including Mario, Yoshi, Princess Peach, Toad, Bowser Jr., and more. A special photo spot designed around the movie's world will also be available in-store.

Free Sticker Campaign
