At The Westin Osaka, the star of the dessert isn't the chiffon cake itself, but the cream. The hotel's popular sweets are built on the flavor of cream that its pastry team has continually refined. Their tagline sums it up: "As much cream as an oni. Surprisingly light." "Onikuri Chiffon" is the cake that lets guests fully taste that appeal.

In contrast to its bold logo and name, the flavor itself is delicate and refined — a gap that is part of the dessert's charm.
The hotel's popular chiffon sponge is paired with three types of fresh cream, each with a different blend and milk fat content. Balancing their individual characters, the blend lets guests enjoy a gradation of flavor and texture from the cream.
That light, melt-in-the-mouth finish comes from the "air-handling" technique that pastry chef Yoshimi Kamegawa has developed over the years — delivering rich satisfaction alongside a surprisingly light finish.

Popular canelé specialty shop "Canele to," is bringing its new summer-only brand, "Canele to, Shaved Ice.," to Time Out Market Osaka.

The new brand extends "Canele to,"'s commitment to carefully hand-making each canelé, applying that same care to a summer dessert built around seasonal ingredients and meant to be enjoyed with someone.
"Canele to,"'s canelé is known for its freshly baked texture — a crisp, caramelized exterior and a moist, chewy interior. Careful preparation and precise control over baking and temperature bring out that contrast, and the texture keeps changing as it cools, so a single canelé offers two different ways to enjoy it.
Paired with the canelé is a shaved ice made with syrups and sauces built around seasonal fruit and finished with housemade milk. Some menus are topped with whipped cream for a cake-like richness, resulting in a dessert-quality shaved ice meant to be enjoyed through changing layers of flavor and texture down to the last bite.
The lineup includes five flavors: a rich, fruit-forward "Mango," a gently sweet-and-sour "Strawberry Milk," a fragrant "Matcha," a refreshing "Kiwi," and "Ultimate Lemon," made with a housemade lemon squash syrup. Enjoy this summer-only pairing of freshly baked canelé and seasonal shaved ice.
