Umeda Tsutaya Bookstore (Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) is releasing two new exclusive original inks for the first time in six years, starting Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The inks are available in-store from 10:30 AM and on the online store from 12:00 PM, while supplies last (limit: one per item per customer).
Created in collaboration with Kyoto-based stationery and writing instrument maker TAG STATIONERY, the lineup includes two distinct colors — one featuring glimmering flakes and another designed for everyday writing use.
The inks were inspired by last year's "10th Anniversary Original Ink Revival Set," which rekindled a desire to develop new colors. Now in its 11th year since opening in May 2015, the stationery floor worked with TAG STATIONERY for the first time to bring a glitter ink and a versatile everyday shade to life. Both products feature original packaging and bottle label designs crafted entirely in-house.
Fukuju (福寿) — ¥2,750 (tax included)
Shimmering, painting happiness.
Inspired by the shrimp, a traditional symbol of good fortune, Fukuju is a vivid red ink scattered with iridescent holographic glitter flakes. Every stroke carries a small wish for good luck — for yourself or as a gift.

Yushu captures the gentle wavering of incense smoke in a gray tinted with reddish purple. The color shifts subtly between light and dark, evoking a calm and unhurried mood — and it is easy enough to use every day.

Ink Blending Workshop
To coincide with the new ink launch, the stationery floor is hosting an ink-blending workshop led by TAG STATIONERY.
Rather than the conventional three primary colors (red, blue, yellow), the workshop uses a six-color primary palette rooted in the mixing techniques developed by Kyoto Yuzen dyeing specialists. This approach allows even beginners to achieve subtle color nuances with ease. Participants blend their own completely original ink by drawing on these time-honored craft traditions.
