Umi Hachimangu Shrine will hold its spring Koyasu Taisai (子安大祭) festival on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM.
The highlight of this year's festival is the Goshinko (御神幸) — a mikoshi (portable shrine) procession designated as an intangible folk cultural property of Umi-cho — which takes place once every two years. The procession is expected to conclude around 1:00 PM.

During the Goshinko, the mikoshi procession sets off from Umi Hachimangu Shrine and makes its way to Ino Tongu (井野頓宮), accompanied by an adorable children's procession (稚児行列). Bathed in the warmth of spring, the procession advances gracefully and unhurriedly to the melodious sound of flutes.

Photos of the Goshinko were taken during the festivals held in 2018 and 2024.
From 2:00 PM, Umi Kagura (宇美神楽) — a prefectural designated intangible folk cultural property — will be dedicated at the Kaguraden (神楽殿) of Umi Hachimangu Shrine. The performance is expected to conclude around 5:00 PM.

Photos of Umi Kagura were taken in 2023.
The festival offers a rare chance to witness the traditional cultural heritage that Umi-cho takes pride in.
