Answers
If you want to explore something beyond the busy Hakata area, I really recommend visiting Koga! 💡
It's only about a 20-minute train ride from Hakata Station, and it's such a hidden gem.
Koga is a peaceful place surrounded by both the sea and the mountains — full of local charm and nature.
It's not a major tourist spot, but that's exactly what makes it special! 🌿
I actually went there for the local food and drinks, and I'd love to share two of my favorite places — both near the station!
🍛 safed
An incredible curry restaurant — their naan is especially amazing!
Honestly, I'd go to Koga just to eat here.

🍶 Nomiyama Shuhan
This local sake shop opens its kakuuchi (standing bar area) from 10 a.m., which is quite rare in Japan!
They offer a wide variety of unique sake, perfect for tasting or even picking up as gifts.
(Here are a few photos — the atmosphere is amazing!)

If you want to experience a slower, more local side of Fukuoka, Koga is such a great option —
quiet, authentic, and full of great food and drink spots! 🍶✨
