TOC

Summary

In this issue, we introduce our plan to enjoy Shimonoseki on the western edge of Yamaguchi Prefecture and across the sea to Moji in Fukuoka Prefecture.
It was a happy 2 days and 1 night, eating as much seafood as I wanted. It is wonderful that we can enjoy the trip even without a car.

Travel Itinerary

11:00am Karato Market(唐戸市場)

First, visit a market where you can enjoy fresh seafood.

The “Iki-iki Bakangai” held only on Fridays and Saturdays features sushi battles, with many restaurants serving sushi and donburi (rice bowls) with the freshest fish caught that day!

High quality fish such as sea urchin, Longtooth grouper, and Puffer fish are inexpensive, and all the ingredients are big, fresh, and really tasty! It was a fish heaven.

Lots of sushi lined up!

They also sold a lot of fried food.

It’s great to be able to enjoy luxurious sushi while looking at the ocean.

Sushi was 1,350 yen after buying all this!
Super fatty, Longtooth grouper, milt, sea urchin, Puffer fish, shore dotterel, etc. … it was too delicious.

The colors were red, white, and green and it looked like a dragon palace. It was very powerful and beautiful✨
The shrine is also located on a hill, so the view from the shrine is wonderful. The Kanmon Kaikyo can be seen from the shrine.

I made my whale tail meat and fillet sake debut here.
They are also very Japanese fan lobsters, but they were sold out that day…you should definitely order them if they are available!

Incidentally, there are no prices written on the menu here, which makes me somewhat uneasy, but it was about 3,400 yen for a full meal and drinks! Everything is delicious, but I recommend that you go with more than one person because the portions are very large!

I went there to eat Puffer fish sashimi! You can enjoy Puffer fish at a reasonable price.

I had the fugu sashimi set meal, which came with boiled bones of fish. The puffer fish was very tasty!
The boiled bones of fish is also sweet and spicy, and the rice goes well with it.
