Jun. 16, 2024

Hello, this is the Holiday Travel editorial team! Today we feature the staff of Holiday Travel!

We hope to share information about wonderful places and activities in Japan that are not typically featured in sightseeing articles. Our well-informed staff will introduce their favorite things and favorite places, giving you unique insights and recommendations for your outings in Japan. So do not miss it!

The staff member who is introducing us to Tokyo today is...

《Profile》Jason Bian Jason Bian is from Tianjin, China. He is a member of the Holiday Travel staff who organizes tours and also serves as a snapshot guide himself. "I lived in Tokyo for 2 years, Kyoto for 4 years, then Tokyo for 4 years, and found myself living in Japan for 10 years now. I studied film at a university in Japan, and while there, I started photography as a hobby, which has turned into my current job. My current hobby is looking for good photo spots! Favorite Japanese Cuisine: Ramen (Tonkotsu, Iekei, Niboshi)"

He set up the meeting place at the McDonald's near Higashi-Shinjuku Station. In fact, this was the first shop Jason visited on the day he arrived in Japan!

By the way, what memories do you have of "Higashi-Shinjuku" that you are going to share with us today?

So Jason and I started our walk in Higashi-Shinjuku.

ーーーー

The area near our meeting place:

A nice space for sure! There were all kinds of people walking with their dogs, taking a break with a cup of coffee, etc.

ーーーー

After passing through the office building site, the next thing that came into view was the torii gate of the shrine.

ーーーー

So here we are...! This is indeed a nice pathway.

Indeed, this is a scenery that even Japanese people might get excited about. It seems like places like this are very common, but they are actually quite rare.

???

Doggooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! So cute😆❣️

He looked very happy when he was introducing this♡

ーーーー

Continue to take walks a little longer:

Other than the place Jason has introduced, there are many places with a nice atmosphere. The main street where the exit of Higashi-Shinjuku Station is located is lined with buildings, but once you enter the back streets, you will find yourself in a residential area with a really calm atmosphere. As I was walking toward Shinjuku Station, thinking that I might forget I was in the Shinjuku area, I soon arrived at Kabukicho, the entertainment district.

It was really close to Kabukicho...!

So this is a living area too.

It was fun to learn about a part of Tokyo that I didn't even know! Thank you very much!

Bonus

Jason is a photo tour guide specialist. Since we were in Kabukicho, a popular photo spot for international travelers, we asked Jason to take some photos!

*Jason's camera and advice result in great photos!

Finally...

I heard that most people choose Kabukicho for their photoshoot location in Shinjuku, but Jason has other recommendations for places to visit. I'll include those photos as well for extra reference :)
