At the Animal Forest in Uminonakamichi Seaside Park (Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture), baby animals have been born one after another since March. So far, baby sheep, kangaroos, a Tokara goat, a spider monkey, a tufted capuchin monkey, and squirrel monkeys have arrived — marking the first sheep birth in five years and the first Tokara goat birth in seven years. The sight of the baby monkeys still riding on their mothers' backs can only be seen while they remain this young.
Visitors can see these babies growing up happy and healthy in the Animal Forest.
Meet the Animal Forest Babies

Tokara Goat
Name: Potato (Male)
Birthday: June 2
Family: Father Shio, Mother Nori
Potato is very friendly, dashing over to visitors and hopping around energetically. On sunny days, he can be seen out grazing in the goat area.
(Note: Potato is not on view on rainy days.)

Kangaroo
Two baby kangaroos were born in April and May. They now spend less time in their mothers' pouches and are increasingly acting on their own. Both remain wary and easily startled.

Name: Katsuma (Male)
Birthday: April 16
Family: Father Shi, Mother Kirara

Name: Tenma (Female)
Birthday: May 12
Family: Father Shi, Mother Chan

Sheep
Name: Rui (Male), Remi (Female)
Birthday: March 17
Family: Father Rei, Mother Milky
Both have friendly personalities and often sleep side by side. Though they are twins, their coats differ. Listen closely, too, for the difference between their calls and those of the adult sheep!

Spider Monkey
Name: Undecided (sex unknown)
Birthday: March 3
Family: Father Viola, Mother Coco
Still often clinging to its mother, but beginning to spend more time on its own.

Squirrel Monkey
Number: 2
Name: Undecided (sex unknown)
Birthday: From June 29
Right now, they stay close to their mother whether sleeping or awake. Both are adorable as they cling affectionately to her.

Tufted Capuchin Monkey
Name: Undecided (sex unknown)
Birthday: June 8
Family: Father George, Mother Hiro
This is the ninth time mother Hiro has given birth. The baby is known for its round, bright eyes and body fur that is gradually growing longer.
