The French Brittany-inspired bakery specialty shop Biscuiterie Bretonne will release a spring limited edition of its monthly fan-favorite confection at its official online shop: the "Gâteau Nantes Classique (Printemps) – Cherry Blossom Cranberry." Sales begin on Thursday, March 5 at 12:00 PM, with just 150 units available.
The Gâteau Nantes is a traditional regional confection from Nantes, a port city in the southeastern part of the Brittany peninsula in France, with roots dating back to the 18th century. Biscuiterie Bretonne has been offering a monthly limited "Gâteau Nantes Classique" through its official online shop, where it has earned a dedicated following.
This spring edition features a rich dough made with fermented butter and fragrant almonds, combined with sweet-tart cranberries, and finished with a floral cherry blossom fondant. A hint of rum provides an additional layer of aromatic depth. The flavor sold out quickly after it was introduced last year, making early ordering advisable.
Note: The plain version of the Gâteau Nantes Classique will not be on sale in March.
