Caffarel, the Turin, Italy chocolate brand marking its 200th anniversary in 2026, is joining Italia Fair 2026 (イタリア展2026) at JR Kyoto Isetan from Wednesday, September 9 through Monday, September 14.
Alongside Caffarel's popular chocolate items, the fair will offer limited sweets crafted by Hiroki Saito, chef pasticcere at the Kobe Kitano Main Store, home to Japan's only Caffarel café. The brioche used this time is made in-house, with Caffarel's chefs shaping and baking each one by hand from scratch. It's a chance to enjoy a special sweet that pairs the brand's signature chocolate with pastry craftsmanship.

House-made brioche, shaped and baked from scratch by Caffarel's chefs, sandwiched with gelato made from the brand's signature gianduja and a rich chocolate spread called Cremosa, then topped with caramelized hazelnuts.
The smooth gelato and the crunch of toasted hazelnuts come together for the rich gianduja flavor Caffarel is known for.

Brioche con Gelato Pistachio
Price: ¥880 (tax included)
House-made brioche filled with pistachio gelato, topped with Caffarel's gianduja spread Cremosa and pistachios. This venue-exclusive sweet layers rich, roasted pistachio with the hazelnut-forward flavor of gianduja.

About the Pastry Chef: Hiroki Saito

Born in 1985 in Shizuoka. After graduating from the École Culinaire school in Kunitachi, Tokyo, he trained as a pastry chef at an independent shop in his hometown of Shizuoka and at a hotel in Kobe, then joined Caffarel's Kitano Main Store in September 2015. He has served as chef pasticcere at the Kitano Main Store since January 2024.
