The Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel (セルリアンタワー東急ホテル) in Shibuya, Tokyo, will hold its New Year Events 2027 on Friday, January 1 (national holiday) and Saturday, January 2, 2027. Alongside the popular lion dance, rickshaw rides, and Noh theater and rakugo performances held in past years, the program adds a new kabuki dance piece, Renjishi (連獅子), for a lineup that lets visitors enjoy Japanese traditional culture.
Set in the hotel's modern space where Japanese and Western styles blend, the program includes the lion dance (寿獅子舞) and a lobby concert with the sounds of traditional Japanese instruments. To mark the hotel's 25th anniversary, Renjishi is newly added to make the New Year even more colorful.
On the B2F level, the Cerulean Tower Noh Theater (セルリアンタワー能楽堂) hosts a New Year Noh performance and a New Year rakugo show. Other events include Tosenkyo (投扇興), which drew a big crowd in 2026, and a tea service where tea is carefully whisked one cup at a time, giving visitors a chance to experience Japanese culture firsthand.
The events can be enjoyed by hotel guests and restaurant customers, and also casually between outings.
