Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse will host Disco Brick YOKOHAMA, a music event inspired by the disco boom of the 1970s and 1980s, for the first time at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Event Square. The event runs for 16 days from Saturday, August 8 to Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Yokohama has long been a city where the latest Western music arrived early, and it gave birth to many iconic venues that helped shape disco culture. The city developed its own Yokohama-style disco steps and has played a leading role in shaping the music scene ever since.
Disco Brick YOKOHAMA brings together people who lived through the height of disco with a new generation drawn to retro culture, offering an outdoor music experience set against the sea breeze of Yokohama. The event will feature the world of disco from the late 1970s and early 1980s and full-scale music performances by top DJs, all while guests enjoy the fresh air of Yokohama outdoors.
The event also aims to promote Yokohama's "nighttime economy" centered on disco, contributing to the creation and promotion of a nighttime culture in Yokohama as a tourist destination.
Disco Brick YOKOHAMA runs concurrently with Red Brick Sunset 2026, another event at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse where visitors can enjoy a resort atmosphere. The venue is positioned as a new "nighttime playground" to make the most of summer evenings in Yokohama.
A Venue World That Evokes Disco From the Late 1970s to Early 1980s

On the waterside area of Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, a large illuminated BOX structure will appear. Passing through a neon-lit entrance, guests will be welcomed by a DJ booth shimmering with mirror balls and lasers, and a dance floor where they can lose themselves in music.
The venue recreates the world of disco from the late 1970s to early 1980s, when young people who yearned to be cool gathered night after night to dance until dawn in a frenzy of "fever." The space is built around the raw yet overwhelmingly hot groove that swirled on those dance floors of the era.
Top DJs From Japan and Around the World
In a desire to make disco culture accessible to as many people as possible, admission will not be charged for all dates — some days will be free of charge.
On ticketed days, top DJs active in Japan and internationally will gather. Their free-ranging set lists span the lineage of dance music from that era through to techno, house, and reggae. Enjoy a thrilling night where the feverish world of that era meets the playing styles of today.
On free days, visitors can drop in casually on the way home from work or sightseeing to experience the joy of music while revisiting and discovering an interest in "nighttime culture from the 1970s and 1980s." For a more immersive music experience, ticketed days with top DJs offer a completely different atmosphere.
Performance times: 5:30 PM–10:00 PM

Paid BOX Seats for a More Comfortable Experience
For those who are curious about the disco experience but prefer to avoid crowds and stay off their feet, paid BOX seats are also available. Feel the energy of the music and event while spending time as you like from the best seats in the house.

Concurrent Event: Red Brick Sunset 2026
Running at the same time as Disco Brick YOKOHAMA, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse is also hosting Red Brick Sunset 2026, an event where visitors can enjoy a resort getaway atmosphere. Built around the concept of experiencing "an exotic atmosphere right here in Yokohama" by making the most of the open location, the event is celebrating its 19th edition this year. Last year it welcomed approximately 610,000 visitors (*calculated from the number of visitors to Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Buildings 1 and 2), making it a beloved summer staple in Yokohama for guests from the prefecture and beyond.

In recent years, the event has taken popular resort destinations around the world as its theme, including Thailand, Latin America, and the Mediterranean. This year's theme is Santa Monica, a popular resort destination on the American West Coast. To help visitors feel a little cooler during the summer heat, the venue draws inspiration from "Sunset Beach" within Santa Monica, expressing the area's sophisticated streetscape and a "retro-cute," pop, and colorful world.
