Felissimo's handmade kit and interior goods brand SeeMONO has started selling a "Water Spilled Glass Tray" and "Glass Bead Ear Accessories" supervised by kiln work artist etrak glass, with web sales beginning May 18. Both the tray — designed to look as though water has just spilled across its surface — and the ear accessories — characterized by their rhythmic, linked glass bead forms — are created using kiln work, a technique in which glass sheets are melted in an electric kiln. The resulting soft curves and glossy finish, so different from the sharp image typically associated with glass, bring the look of real water to life.
Water Spilled Glass Tray
The glass tray is designed to look as if water, brimming with surface tension, has frozen in place — a playful piece that prompts a second glance in everyday settings. Cutting glass sheets and heating them at high temperatures in an electric kiln produces the rounded edges and glossy, water-like finish. Placed quietly alongside ordinary objects, it acts as an artistic interior accent with a sense of whimsy.
The set includes three sizes: one large piece usable as a coaster, two medium pieces that double as accessory trays, and four small pieces ideal as cutlery rests. Three delicate glass beads resembling water droplets are also included as a bonus with every set.
