Fairfield by Marriott Hokkaido Eniwa to Host Summer Garden Tour and Workshop for Families

Fairfield by Marriott Hokkaido Eniwa is hosting a "Hanafuru Garden Tour and Workshop Event" on Sunday, July 26, 2026, exclusively for hotel guests. The event takes place at 花の拠点 はなふる (Hanafuru), a garden complex located just in front of the hotel in Eniwa City, Hokkaido.

The event is part of the Fairfield by Marriott Michinoeki Project's broader mission to highlight the lesser-known appeal of local communities across Japan, under the concept of "Quest for Unknown Japan." This time, the event focuses on Eniwa City's celebrated flower and garden culture.

Eniwa City: Hokkaido's Garden City

Eniwa City, Hokkaido — home to Fairfield by Marriott Hokkaido Eniwa — is known as a city of flowers, where a diverse array of blooms harmonize with lush greenery and natural landscapes. The scenery shifts with each season, and summer sees a vibrant burst of colorful flowers. Right in front of the hotel lies Hanafuru, a public park where guests can easily enjoy these beautiful gardens.

Garden Tour with Expert Guides

The garden tour will be led by two experienced gardeners. Miki Tsuchiya, a gardener from Sungarden Co., Ltd. who designed the "Nijiiro no Tori" (Rainbow Bird) garden area at Hanafuru, and Yuka Mori, Hanafuru's Head Gardener, will guide guests through the summer gardens. They will share their professional perspectives on the characteristics and highlights of each garden within Hanafuru, as well as tips for enjoying gardens in summer — offering a rare opportunity to discover the subtle expressions of flowers and spaces that are easy to overlook.

Workshop: Lavender Picking and Flower Crafting

Following the garden tour, guests will enjoy hands-on workshops including lavender picking, and the creation of dried flower arrangements and sachets. Surrounded by the scent of freshly picked lavender, the creative activities are designed to be accessible to children and enjoyable for families. All finished crafts can be taken home as a souvenir of the trip.

Note: If lavender is not in bloom at the time of the event, another flower picking experience will be offered.
