New "FLOWERS of ROMANCE" Feature Highlights Marianne Hallberg's Latest Ceramic Vases

A new special feature, "FLOWERS of ROMANCE," has gone live on the Tonkachi Store website, presenting a curated lineup of vases by Swedish ceramicist Marianne Hallberg. The collection brings together one-of-a-kind original works handcrafted by Marianne in her Swedish atelier, as well as the Japan Series — pieces produced at Japanese kilns in collaboration with Tonkachi.

The feature is styled with poppies to draw out the humor and warmth embodied in each vase. All featured products are available on the Tonkachi Store online shop.

FLOWERS of ROMANCE: The Cosmos of Poppies

FLOWERS of ROMANCE — The Cosmos of Poppies

"Flowers of Romance" is an eternal theme shared by Tonkachi and Marianne. This edition features the poppy — the flower of love.

The flower language of the poppy — compassion, tenderness, and the premonition of romance — aligns perfectly with Marianne's own words. The winding, cosmic curves of her forms humorously hint at where this romance leads. Aboard Marianne's vases, chase the poppy's love story all the way to the ends of the cosmos.

About Marianne Hallberg

Marianne Hallberg

Born in 1952 in Gothenburg, Sweden, to a family of florists, Marianne Hallberg spent her youth traveling the world before returning home to begin making pottery. Her distinctive style — as if flat surfaces have been lifted into three dimensions — blends avant-garde sensibility with cool humor. She has drawn the attention of forward-thinking creatives and is known among younger artists as a ceramicist deeply admired by fellow artists.
