Hankyu Umeda Main Store Hosts RYO-SEN's Curated Everyday Living Tools from Across Japan

"Kurashi no Ryosen — The Ridgeline of Daily Life"

Period: March 4 (Wednesday) to June 30 (Tuesday)
Location: Hankyu Umeda Main Store, 7F Living Floor "Kitchen & Dining"

The 7th floor Kitchen & Dining section of Hankyu Umeda Main Store is hosting "Kurashi no Ryosen (Ridgeline of Daily Life)" from March 4 through June 30. Just as a mountain ridgeline beautifully traces the boundary between sky and earth, the tools we use every day shape the contours of our lives. This event defines long-lasting, beloved everyday tools — rather than trend-driven goods — as the "ridgeline of daily life," and brings together carefully selected works from makers across Japan.

Industrial Precision Meets Handcrafted Warmth: Coffee Tools to Savor Daily Life

Chiba Kosakusho Coffee Dripper & Stand Set, ¥46,750

Chiba Kosakusho is a workshop based in Nagoya, Aichi, specializing in metal craftsmanship centered on brass. The craftsman couple behind the studio originally worked in precision automobile parts manufacturing, and have since channeled that expertise into creating tools for everyday living. The hallmark of their work is an exquisite balance between millimeter-level precision cultivated through industrial production and the natural variations that emerge from handwork. In an age when efficiency often takes priority, their pieces invite the luxury of slowing down and savoring the craft.
