With the rainy season now officially over in Osaka and summer in full swing, Hotel New Otani Osaka's outdoor pool, "THE BOTANICAL POOL -NIGHT POOL-," is open for the season through September 23, 2026. Billed as one of Osaka's most open and expansive outdoor pools, it comes with a sweeping view of Osaka Castle, making it a spot for a luxurious evening away from the summer heat.
A photogenic, sunburn-free night at the pool
A cool evening breeze, an illuminated water surface, and ambient sound come together for an escape from the everyday. From the poolside, guests can look up to see Osaka Castle lit up at night, a scenic backdrop unique to this location.
Free from the strong daytime sun and sunburn worries, the pool offers an evening oasis for adults to enjoy the season at a relaxed pace. With light reflecting off the water and a polished resort-style setting, it makes for an easy photo opportunity throughout the space.
New poolside burgers and other dishes

At the poolside restaurant, which guests can visit in swimwear, the menu ranges from hearty hotel-made dishes to colorful chilled desserts.
This year's highlight is a lineup of hearty burgers served on three different colored buns. The "Pink & Pink" double beef smash cheeseburger, which matches the pink-lit setting, uses two beef patties pressed and seared on a griddle to lock in flavor, topped with melted cheese and a beet-based pink sauce. There's also the "Green & Green" avocado and shrimp lemon burger, made with avocado, shrimp, and a bright squeeze of lemon, and the "Bronze & Bronze" Shanghai-style grilled chicken burger, finished with a rich black vinegar sauce for a Chinese-inspired take.
Herb-crusted chicken confit
Fresh spring rolls with edible flowers and shrimp, served with sweet chili sauce
Beyond the burgers, the menu also includes a chicken confit slow-cooked in low-temperature oil until moist and tender, then coated in herbed breadcrumbs and baked until golden, along with fresh spring rolls filled with colorful edible flowers, plump shrimp, and crisp vegetables, served with a sweet and spicy chili sauce.
A new color-changing "Colorful Peach Fizz"

New to the drink menu this year is the "Colorful Peach Fizz." Placing the glass on a light-up coaster changes the color of the drink itself. Photographed against the illuminated pool at night, the glowing drink makes for a striking shot. The peach-flavored drink is lightly sweet and refreshing.
