Hotel Okura Fukuoka (located in Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City; President: Ryota Sugiyama) will host a special promotion themed around mimosa to commemorate International Women's Day, designated by the United Nations on March 8. The promotion includes the distribution of commemorative gifts, lobby flower displays, and exclusive menu offerings from March 1 (Sunday) to March 31 (Tuesday), 2026.
International Women's Day, which honors the courage and achievements of women, is also affectionately known as "Mimosa Day" in Italy. Hotel Okura Fukuoka has prepared various initiatives themed around this symbolic flower, expressing wishes for women's empowerment and the realization of gender equality.
International Women's Day Special Hospitality
On March 8, International Women's Day, guests checking into the hotel will receive an original message card with mimosa and jasmine-scented potpourri. This sustainable initiative was realized through collaboration with the Japan Sustainable Flower Association, featuring upcycled postcards made from flowers that would otherwise be discarded (loss flowers). Additionally, female staff members working that day will wear mimosa brooches to welcome guests with warm hospitality.
