Iwakuni City Returns to TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026 for a Third Consecutive Year

Iwakuni City, in Yamaguchi Prefecture, is exhibiting at TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026, one of Japan's largest gaming events, for a third consecutive year. The show runs for five days, from Thursday, September 17 to Monday, September 21 (a national holiday), 2026, at Makuhari Messe.

Iwakuni City Booth Overview

At its booth, Iwakuni City will showcase IWAKUNI QUEST, a PC game set in the city. Through the game, the city aims to promote its tourism resources and local charms, while also spotlighting its initiatives to attract IT companies, with the goal of revitalizing the region through corporate attraction and by growing its network of relationships with the city.

Visitors to the booth can also take part in a premium gacha giveaway of "Iwakuni City original novelty goods," including acrylic keychains and stickers featuring characters from IWAKUNI QUEST. Be sure to stop by the Iwakuni City booth.

Participation in the premium gacha requires meeting the conditions below and is limited to one entry per person.
Available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.
There is no hands-on play session for IWAKUNI QUEST at the booth.

About IWAKUNI QUEST

IWAKUNI QUEST is a new style of game where players visit locations across Iwakuni City — including the famous Kintai Bridge and Iwakuni Castle — and enjoy puzzles that connect conversations with characters to the city's local specialties.

Players join a character named Marifu-chan to visit six areas around the city, learning about Iwakuni City's charms along the way.

The game also includes a gallery where players can view the characters and local specialties that appear in the story and learn more about each one individually.
