Bamboo Ikebana Art "Moonlit Bamboo Grove" Is on Display at Kyoto Station Building Through December 6

The art festival "KYOTO AUTUMN ART STATION 2026," held by NAKED Inc. (ネイキッド) in collaboration with Kyoto Station Building, runs from Friday, October 16 to Sunday, December 6, 2026. In front of NIWA, an art terrace lounge on the East Plaza on the 7th floor of Kyoto Station Building, a bamboo ikebana art installation by Ikenobo (華道家元池坊) and NAKED is on display.

The festival also includes a Japanese attire and matcha experience linked to the "2nd Kyoto Station Building Art Festival" (第2回京都駅ビル芸術祭), and set tickets that combine NIWA with NAKED's art events at Nijo Castle and Higashi Honganji. It offers a way to enjoy autumn in Kyoto through art, starting from Kyoto Station.

Moonlit Bamboo Grove (月夜の竹林) "KAGUYA" on the East Plaza

During the festival, bamboo ikebana art by Ikenobo is on display at the East Plaza on the 7th floor of Kyoto Station Building, where NIWA is located. Based on the theme "KAGUYA," the installation expresses a bamboo grove with bamboo and a dome likened to the moon, decorated with autumn grasses and flowers such as susuki (pampas grass). It is lit up at night, showing a different look from the daytime.

Matcha Experience in Japanese Attire at NIWA's Light Tea Room "Kiwa"

The festival is linked to the "2nd Kyoto Station Building Art Festival," which runs from Saturday, October 17 to Tuesday, November 3 (a national holiday). On Saturday, October 24, participants in the Japanese attire (和装) experience hosted by the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry (京都商工会議所) can whisk and enjoy their own matcha in NIWA's Light Tea Room "Kiwa" (光の茶室「貴和」).

Set Tickets with NAKED Events at Nijo Castle and Higashi Honganji

Set tickets are available that combine NIWA with NAKED's art events at Nijo Castle and Higashi Honganji. Each ticket includes admission to the event plus a set of matcha and ohagi at NIWA. Pairing a break at Kyoto Station with an art experience at a historic site makes it easy to enjoy a tour of autumn Kyoto.

NAKED has been promoting "NAKED GARDEN ONE KYOTO," a project that treats the appeal of Kyoto not as individual "points" but as a connected "surface," linking culture, art, nature and the life of the city. As part of that project, the art terrace lounge NIWA opened on the East Plaza on the 7th floor of Kyoto Station Building in spring 2025.

NAKED meets Nijo Castle 2026 (寛永行幸400周年 NAKED meets 二条城 2026)

This year marks 400 years since the Kan'ei Imperial Visit (寛永行幸), one of the largest cultural events of the Edo period. This experiential art exhibition takes place at Nijo Castle, a World Heritage site that served as its stage. It explores Kan'ei culture from the perspective of "design," and lets visitors encounter the culture and people of the time while walking through the historic castle.

NAKED GARDEN NIGHTS Higashi Honganji / Shōsei-en Garden (東本願寺・渉成園)

This nighttime event takes place at Higashi Honganji and Shōsei-en Garden, a short distance from Kyoto Station, and offers a Kyoto experience unique to autumn nights. Visitors walk from Higashi Honganji to Shōsei-en Garden, touring the garden, savoring the experience, and sometimes stopping to take in the history, culture and autumn scenery of each place.
