Moominvalley Park in Hanno, Saitama, is holding "Water Play in Moominvalley," the park's coolest summer event yet, through September 6 (Sunday), 2026. Starting August 8 (Saturday) — when the park begins its summer hours with an earlier 9:00 AM opening — Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden will appear in new swimwear colors. Next door, the Nordic lifestyle experience facility Metsä Village is adding a lake fireworks display to its ongoing "metsä's Nordic Fireworks" show.
Moominvalley Park is also selling a Night Pass for visitors who want to spend a cool evening immersed in the world of the story, offering a full day of summer enjoyment from afternoon into the night.
Lake and Sky Fireworks Together: The Highlight at Moominvalley Park
From the August 8 (Saturday) performance onward, Metsä Village's popular "metsä's Nordic Fireworks" adds a lake fireworks display to its lineup. Set to about 15 minutes of music recommended by the embassies and embassy staff of eight Nordic countries, the show lets visitors at Moominvalley Park watch fireworks launched overhead together with fireworks over the lake up close, as the water's surface is lit in vivid color.
On fireworks days, Moominvalley Park sells a Night Pass granting entry from 4:00 PM for ¥2,500 on the day or ¥2,300 in advance. Pass holders can enjoy the fireworks lighting up the summer night sky, fantastical illuminations, and shows such as "Summer The Groke and Snow & Splash."

Kids Cheer Campaign: ¥500 One-Day Pass for Ages 4 to High School Students
Through September 30 (Wednesday), 2026, the NPO Decent Work Lab is running its "Kids Cheer Campaign," offering visitors ages 4 through high school a One-Day Pass, normally ¥1,300, for ¥500 (tax included).
Children (including those not yet in school) who visit during the campaign period will also receive a cooling mini towel featuring an original design from "Tonttu Festival 2026" (held at Metsä Village), hosted by the same NPO, while supplies last.
