MUJI is releasing a new "Double Gauze" series — breathable room long pants and seamless pajamas made from soft cotton gauze — in stores and online starting July 13.
Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd., which operates MUJI, will roll out the "Men's/Women's Double Gauze Room Long Pants," "Men's/Women's Seamless Double Gauze Long-Sleeve Pajamas," and "Men's Seamless Double Gauze Stand Collar Long-Sleeve Pajamas" — all made from a softly woven, breathable cotton gauze — at MUJI stores and its online store starting Monday, July 13.

The new items are designed for a soft touch against the skin and comfortable wear regardless of the season. The pajamas remove the side seams for a smoother fit, while the standalone room long pants were developed in response to customer requests for gauze pants sold on their own, complete with pockets for carrying a phone, wallet, or keys. Beyond indoor use, the pieces are also suited to quick outings such as nearby errands or walks, and pair easily with tops already in a wearer's closet across a range of temperatures.
Men's/Women's Double Gauze Room Long Pants
Using a thicker yarn than standard pajama fabric, this item is woven into a fabric with a moderate crispness and body. Beyond loungewear, it is designed to be worn easily on quick outings such as nearby errands or walks. The double-gauze fabric offers notable breathability and a light, dry feel, and its versatility across temperatures makes it easy to wear through seasonal changes. As a standalone piece, it pairs easily with a variety of tops and comes with pockets for storing small items.
Men's/Women's Seamless Double Gauze Long-Sleeve Pajamas
Designed with comfort in mind, these pajamas remove the side seams and use 100% organic cotton double gauze. The lightweight, soft fabric traps air between its two layers, making it comfortable to wear regardless of season. Fine yarn is woven at a high density for a more delicate, gentle feel against the skin.
The fabric also undergoes an air tumbler finishing process — using air rather than water to work the material — for an extra-soft texture. The collar can be buttoned all the way up, allowing the fit to be adjusted for temperature or preference. The waistband uses an all-around elastic design with an adjustable opening, so the fit can be customized, and the elastic itself can be replaced.
Men's Seamless Double Gauze Stand Collar Long-Sleeve Pajamas
Using a thicker yarn than the standard seamless double gauze pajamas, this version is woven into a fabric with moderate crispness and body, making it suitable both for sleepwear and as loungewear. The breathable double-gauze fabric offers a light, dry feel that stays comfortable over long stretches of the year. A stand collar gives the neckline a clean look, and the piece can be paired with existing tops and bottoms for outings such as nearby errands or walks, in addition to wear at home.
