Nissei Releases Pink Petit Wafer (Strawberry Flavor) for Instagram-Worthy Soft Serve

Nissei Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Ibaraki City, Osaka; president: Fumiharu Yoshida), a comprehensive soft-serve ice cream manufacturer, will launch a new topping product "Pink Petit Wafer (Strawberry Flavor)" on March 5, 2026.

Pale Pink Heart-Shaped Wafer for Versatile Use

The product features a pale pink heart shape that easily complements any menu, with a subtle strawberry flavor. Leveraging the company's long-cultivated cone baking technology, Nissei has achieved a natural, elegant color and a strawberry flavor that complements soft-serve ice cream. The wafer blends seamlessly with various aesthetics, from Japanese-style to "yume-kawaii" (dreamy-cute), and expands topping variations whether inserted into soft serve or crushed and sprinkled on top.

Pink Petit Wafer product applications

The product is ideal for cherry blossom and strawberry menus, as well as shops seeking to add a pink accent color, stores developing "oshi-color" (favorite character color) lineups, soft-serve specialty stores, cafes and bakery cafes, and even family restaurants and conveyor belt sushi chains across a wide range of dining scenes.

Product Development Intent

The sales department gathered feedback from stores requesting "versatile red/pink dry toppings" and collaborated with the development team to commercialize the product. They selected Petit Wafer for its "light texture" that works well with both drinks and soft serve. The heart-shaped Petit Wafer with pale pink color and subtle strawberry flavor is a unique item from Nissei. The company positions this as a new standard topping that's easy to use for both cone cups and cup-served menus.

Furthermore, Nissei is releasing this product as the first in its topping reinforcement initiative aimed at expanding the value of soft-serve ice cream, with plans to expand the lineup in the future.

Product Development Commitment

The biggest challenge was reproducing a "pale, beautiful pink color." The team conducted repeated trial production with actual equipment, meticulously adjusting baking conditions and formulation. They suppressed the intensity of baking color to achieve the desired "gentle pink" appearance.
