Oriental Hotel Okinawa Resort & Spa, located at the gateway to the Yanbaru subtropical forest in northern Okinawa (Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture), will host "Eisa Night @ Oriental Hotel Okinawa Resort & Spa" across 14 evenings from Saturday, July 18 to Saturday, September 26, 2026 — every Saturday and public holiday throughout the period.
The event brings traditional Eisa, a performing art passed down through local youth associations during the Okinawan Bon festival season, directly to hotel guests. By providing a stage for these associations, the hotel also contributes to the preservation of traditional culture, the development of the next generation of performers, and the vitalization of local communities. This year, the event has been expanded beyond the summer holiday season to run through the final Saturday of September, offering more guests the chance to experience this cultural tradition.

About Eisa
Eisa is a traditional performing art unique to Okinawa, with each region featuring its own distinct drum types and dance styles. At Eisa Night, a different youth association performs at each of the 14 sessions, showcasing the individual character and energy of their troupe.
The opening session on Saturday, July 18 features the "Gushichan Seinenkai" from Yaese Town in southern Okinawa. On Monday, July 20 (national holiday), the "Sakaeguchi-ku Seinenkai" from Chatan Town takes the stage. Their performances transition from solemn, powerful melodies into dynamic, energetic dances set to the beloved Okinawan folk song "Toshindoi," captivating audiences across Japan and beyond.

About Oriental Hotel Okinawa Resort & Spa

Oriental Hotel Okinawa Resort & Spa is the first resort hotel under the Oriental Hotels & Resorts brand, set at the entrance to Yanbaru — a region of rich subtropical forest and deep blue sea in the northern part of Okinawa's main island. It is conveniently located near the Kyoda Interchange on the Okinawa Expressway, approximately 40 minutes from Junglia Okinawa (which had its grand opening on July 25, 2025), 60 minutes from Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, and 20 minutes from Cape Manzamo in Onna Village.
All 361 guest rooms are ocean-view and measure 44 square meters or larger. In spring 2024, 288 rooms were renovated into spaces more befitting a base for exploring Yanbaru. The lobby area, filled with plants native to Yanbaru forests and bathed in filtered light, plays ambient music evoking the concept of "playing on the island, connecting with the forest." The space creates an immersive atmosphere reminiscent of standing in a Yanbaru forest at night, balanced with a sense of freedom from everyday life. The hotel also features the "Amenity Base Arin Krin," where guests can freely select their preferred amenities, a lobby lounge serving cocktails inspired by Yanbaru, and a club lounge exclusive to club room guests. Restaurants, bars, a banquet hall, and a chapel round out the facilities.
