The Singapore Sling, born at Raffles Hotel Singapore in 1915 and recognized as Singapore's national cocktail, will mark its 111th year on Singapore Sling Day (June 27, 2026). The date coincides with International Pineapple Day — fitting, since the pineapple is both a global symbol of hospitality and a key ingredient in the drink. To celebrate, Long Bar has a full lineup of events, including its signature pineapple exchange, the debut of "Singapore Sling Zero," a lucky draw, and exclusive giveaways.
From June 10 to June 27, 2026, Long Bar's Instagram (@longbarsg) will host a Singapore Sling-themed quiz. One lucky winner will receive a private Sling Masterclass for two, priority reservations for two at Long Bar, and two commemorative Singapore Sling glasses.
On the day itself, Long Bar will be draped in a festive atmosphere, with several events running throughout the day.

Pineapple Exchange Campaign
To celebrate the 111th anniversary, the first 111 guests to bring a whole pineapple to Long Bar on June 27, 2026, will receive one Singapore Sling. (The usual cap is 100 guests; this year it has been raised to 111 in honor of the occasion.) Limited to the first 111 guests, one per person.
Singapore Sling Day Photo Booth
A themed photo booth at Long Bar will feature special frames and playful props created exclusively for the occasion.
Golden Peanut
Guests who find a "Golden Peanut" in their bag of peanuts will win a Long Bar burlap bag.
Roulette Spin
For every three Singapore Slings ordered, guests can spin the roulette wheel for a chance to win prizes such as a Singapore Sling glass, a Long Bar burlap bag, or a Singapore Sling magnet.
The debut of "Singapore Sling Zero" is also planned for around June 27, 2026.
111 Years of the Singapore Sling
When the Singapore Sling was first created in 1915, women drinking in public was considered improper. Raffles Hotel bartender Ngiam Tong Boon crafted a cocktail using gin and liqueurs that resembled fruit juice in its pale pink color. The feminine-looking drink was socially acceptable for women of the era, and it quickly caught on.
More than a century later, the recipe remains essentially unchanged. Based on locally distilled Brass Lion Singapora Gin, it combines fresh pineapple juice, lime juice, Cointreau, and Bénédictine for a spicy, fruity flavor. The distinctive pink color comes from cherry liqueur and a grenadine syrup made from 100% pomegranate juice, developed specifically for the drink. A dash of special cocktail bitters rounds it out. Following Long Bar tradition, guests snack on peanuts straight from the burlap bag — and are encouraged to drop the shells on the floor.
