Royal Host Introduces SWEET POTATO & MARRON SELECTION Autumn Desserts from September 16, 2026

Royal Host, operated by Royal Group, will release a limited-time seasonal dessert lineup starring two classic autumn flavors, sweet potato and chestnut (marron), from Wednesday, September 16, 2026, under the theme SWEET POTATO & MARRON SELECTION.

This autumn's lineup features a parfait built around each star ingredient. The sweet potato parfait pairs sweet potato cream and candied daigaku-imo with hoji-cha scented agar jelly and shiratama dumplings in the Hoji-cha Scented Sweet Potato Parfait, while the chestnut parfait combines marron cream and a rich crème brûlée with the bright acidity of cassis ice cream in the Chestnut Brûlée Parfait with Cassis. Guests who want to try both can order the Sweet Potato and Chestnut Autumn Color Parfait, and from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM a time-limited option, the Sweet Potato and Chestnut Dessert Plate (with Drink), brings together a petit parfait, petit anmitsu, petit brûlée, and a marron glacé madeleine on a single plate. The varied lineup lets guests choose based on their mood or the moment.

Royal Host is also running a website poll alongside this season's desserts, inviting guests to vote for whichever they prefer: sweet potato, chestnut, or both.

For tea pairing, Royal Host suggests combinations from its TEARTH tea leaf brand, available at the drink bar, chosen to complement each dessert. Continuing from last year, coasters featuring "Cosmos," an artwork by para-artist Kanta Wajima of Kanazawa Art Studio, will also be available, bringing together art and dessert under the theme "a small museum on your plate."

As autumn settles in, Royal Host invites guests to enjoy a relaxing moment in its dining spaces, and plans to keep offering seasonal, limited-time desserts throughout the year.

Autumn Parfait Lineup

Desserts are not available for takeout or delivery. At the Kudanshita, Kanda-Jimbocho, and Iizuka locations, hoji-cha is the only pairing tea offered.

Hoji-cha Scented Sweet Potato Parfait

Hoji-cha Scented Sweet Potato Parfait ¥1,380 (tax included ¥1,518)

A parfait that blends Japanese and Western ingredients to bring out the fluffy, comforting sweetness of sweet potato through crisp candied daigaku-imo and sweet potato cream. Layers of Tokachi zenzai (sweet red bean soup), shiratama dumplings, tart cassis ice cream, and crunchy roasted brown rice build up to a finish of hoji-cha scented agar jelly. Enjoy a different flavor in every layer. Recommended pairing: decaf Earl Grey.

Chestnut Brûlée Parfait with Cassis

Chestnut Brûlée Parfait with Cassis ¥1,480 (tax included ¥1,628)

A parfait built around the pairing of chestnut and cassis. A crisp, caramelized crème brûlée is layered with shibukawa-ni chestnuts, marron cream, and cassis ice cream, finished with a cassis and lavender scented jelly. The bright acidity of the cassis lightens the rich sweetness of the chestnut, leaving a delicate, fragrant note of lavender. Recommended pairing: chamomile.

Sweet Potato and Chestnut Autumn Color Parfait

Sweet Potato and Chestnut Autumn Color Parfait ¥1,080 (tax included ¥1,188)

A parfait that lets guests enjoy both sweet potato and chestnut, packed with candied daigaku-imo, sweet potato cream, shibukawa-ni chestnuts, and marron cream. Tart cassis ice cream and blueberry sauce add brightness to the rich sweetness of the two ingredients. The vivid coloring, designed to evoke the look of autumn foliage, is also worth a look. Recommended pairing: hoji-cha.

Sweet Potato and Chestnut Petit Parfait +¥550 (tax included ¥605)

A petit dessert available only with orders of ¥350 (tax included ¥385) or more. Layers of shibukawa-ni chestnuts, chestnut ice cream, whipped cream, and sweet potato cream let guests enjoy both sweet potato and chestnut in a small parfait, accented by the aroma and crunch of roasted brown rice. This item is not sold on its own; a set meal's included petit dessert can be upgraded to this parfait for an additional ¥350 (tax included ¥385).

Time-Limited Dessert Plate: 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Sweet Potato and Chestnut Dessert Plate

Sweet Potato and Chestnut Dessert Plate (with Drink) ¥1,880 (tax included ¥2,068)

Available only from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, this plate brings together the Chestnut and Cassis Petit Parfait, with cassis ice cream tucked beneath marron cream; the Hoji-cha Scented Petit Sweet Potato Anmitsu, paired with crisp daigaku-imo; the Sweet Potato and Chestnut Petit Brûlée, layering shibukawa-ni chestnuts, caramel biscuit, whipped cream, and sweet potato cream under a caramelized top; and the Marron Glacé Madeleine, also sold at the register. Recommended pairings are hoji-cha and English Breakfast tea. Take a relaxed afternoon break with desserts available only during this window and on this plate.

*The Marron Glacé Madeleine is not available at some stores. *The Kudanshita, Kanda-Jimbocho, and Iizuka locations do not have a drink bar, and offer only hoji-cha as the pairing tea.

Marron Glacé Madeleine Also Available for Takeout

Marron Glacé Madeleine

From the Royal Host Deli lineup sold at the register, the Marron Glacé Madeleine, the same baked treat used on the Dessert Plate, goes on sale in packs of 5 for ¥980 (tax included) for a limited time starting September 16 (Wednesday) while supplies last. Not available at some stores.

Made with a batter using Hokkaido cream and butter, kneaded with marron paste, and topped with marron glacé made from Italian chestnuts, the madeleine is baked to a moist finish. It pairs well with warm drinks like coffee or tea for a relaxing autumn moment.

Comment from the Product Developer

Tomoko Udahira, Royal Co., Ltd.

Tomoko Udahira of the Chain Development Section, Chain Planning and Development Department, Product Division at Royal Co., Ltd., shared the following comment:

"We developed these desserts to bring out the deep, flavorful sweetness and aroma of sweet potato and chestnut, two ingredients that represent the taste of autumn. We worked to draw out the natural appeal of each ingredient while giving every dessert its own distinct character.

Because both sweet potato and chestnut carry a rich sweetness, we paired them with refreshing flavors and textures so that each dessert stays enjoyable from the first bite to the last. We designed the lineup with many different moments in mind: enjoying the Dessert Plate slowly with a warm drink after lunch or during teatime, or savoring a parfait through a long autumn evening.

I hope guests can spend a relaxing, heartwarming time with Royal Host's autumn desserts, whether with family and friends or alone with a good book."

Royal Host's next seasonal dessert is planned to center on chocolate, arriving ahead of the holiday season.
