Monchhichi Collaboration Corner Now at Sawawa Matcha Sweets Shop in Dazaifu, Fukuoka

Sawawa (茶和々), a matcha sweets specialty shop, has set up a permanent Monchhichi collaboration corner at its Dazaifu shop in Fukuoka Prefecture. The corner has been running since Friday, October 16, 2026, under a licensing agreement with Sekiguchi Co., Ltd.

The Sawawa × Monchhichi collaboration began at the Arashiyama shop in Kyoto in June 2026, and this is its second installment. At Dazaifu, a historic sightseeing destination where the god of learning is enshrined, Okoicha Monchhichi (お濃茶モンチッチ) and Tea Picking Monchhichi (茶摘みモンチッチ) have now arrived.

About Sawawa

Sawawa Dazaifu shop

Sawawa Dazaifu shop

Sawawa is a specialty shop for matcha sweets. Alongside souvenir sweets made with plenty of high-quality matcha, it serves matcha warabimochi (抹茶わらびもち), its most popular item since opening, freshly made in the shop. Gelato and drinks are also available to take out.

In the Monchhichi collaboration that started at the Arashiyama shop, Okoicha and Tea Picking Monchhichi serve as the shop's signature characters, and the limited mascot key chains have been well received.

Limited Mascot Key Chains

The limited mascot key chains, popular since they went on sale at the Arashiyama shop, are now available at the Dazaifu shop as well. The Sawawa-exclusive Okoicha and Tea Picking Monchhichi can currently be found only at the Arashiyama shop in Kyoto and the Dazaifu shop in Fukuoka.
