Immersive Theater "SoraCruise" Opens Permanently at JAL SKY MUSEUM

The immersive theater "SoraCruise by Japan Airlines" is coming to JAL SKY MUSEUM as a permanent installation starting August 1, 2026. Previously exhibited on a limited-time basis at the Osaka-Kansai Expo and Osaka Port Vertiport, the attraction will now be available to visitors year-round whenever they tour the facility.

What Is SoraCruise?

SoraCruise is a seated immersive theater experience centered on flying cars — the emerging urban air mobility technology being explored by the JAL Group. The installation uses an immersive solution provided by Sony PCL Inc., combining realistic visuals across four screens with spatial audio and haptic vibration technology to recreate the sensation of actually riding in a flying car. During the Expo period, approximately 130,000 visitors experienced the attraction.

The JAL SKY MUSEUM version has been scaled down from the Expo installation — roughly six-tenths of the original size — so that more visitors can enjoy it during regular facility tours. The film takes guests on a seated journey over Osaka and various other locations, offering a first-person sense of gliding through the air.

An adjacent exhibition space introduces the JAL Group's efforts toward deploying flying cars in real-world operations, giving visitors a broader look at the future of air mobility alongside the immersive experience.
