Tsukiji Chitose's Yaki-imo Mochi Returns for Fall, Filled with Tanegashima Anno Sweet Potato

Tsukiji Chitose, the long-established wagashi shop, has released its seasonal Yaki-imo Mochi for another year at its Haneda Airport locations.

Two Kinds of Sweet Potato

Arriving just ahead of the season, the Yaki-imo Mochi returns again this year. Soft mochi kneaded with Ayamurasaki sweet potato wraps around a rich filling made by baking Tanegashima-grown Anno sweet potato. Condensed milk, egg yolk, and butter are blended into the filling for a flavor reminiscent of sweet potato pie, making it a specialty where you can taste two kinds of sweet potato.

Perfect alongside a cup of tea, it also makes a thoughtful small gift for friends and family. It's a limited-time item, so it will go off sale once stock runs out.
