Free-Entry "Tachibana Fes" 2nd Anniversary Event at TACHIBANA HUT — June 13–14, 2026

TACHIBANA HUT, a community hub inside Tachibana Park (橘公園) in Kawasaki's Takatsu Ward, is holding its 2nd anniversary festival, "Tachibana Fes 2nd Anniversary," on June 13 (Saturday) and 14 (Sunday), 2026.

TACHIBANA HUT was established under the Park-PFI system — a government-approved framework that allows private operators to develop and run revenue-generating facilities within public parks — and serves as a local gathering space equipped with rental spaces, a café stand, and more.

The festival is free to attend, with food trucks, a marché, workshops, stage performances by local community groups, and a stamp rally all scheduled across both days. Purchases at food trucks, merchandise stalls, and workshops are charged separately.

About TACHIBANA HUT

TACHIBANA HUT opened in Tachibana Park under the Park-PFI framework and has been actively working to improve the park's usability and strengthen the local community. The facility offers a range of spaces and has hosted events, exhibitions, workshops, café and food truck gatherings, a coworking space, and community farm experiences. It has also partnered with local organizations on event planning and neighborhood clean-up activities.

Community activities at TACHIBANA HUT

Past community initiatives have included:

  • Disaster preparedness drills in collaboration with the Akutsu neighborhood association and Kanigaya self-governing association — featuring emergency toilet displays, emergency food tastings, water extinguisher drills, AED training, and bandaging demonstrations
  • Flower planting workshops where residents helped plant donated flowers in the slope flower bed near the park entrance
  • Green upcycling — collecting unwanted old clothes and fabric and repurposing them as new material, now used on bench cushions and chair seats inside TACHIBANA HUT
  • Addition of outdoor benches and greenery to create more comfortable resting spaces in the park

Facilities Available at TACHIBANA HUT

The following spaces are available for rental (fees apply):

  • Rental space (for events, exhibitions, and workshops)
  • Rental kitchen
  • Meeting room (1 room)
  • POP-UP SHOP space
  • Coworking space (2nd floor)

Community members can also get involved in park operations through a LINE open chat for information sharing and community building, and by participating in or proposing events. For details on reservations and upcoming events, visit the TACHIBANA HUT official website.

Park-PFI: Improving Accessibility for All

As part of the Park-PFI initiative, the park's existing restrooms have also been renovated: Western-style toilets have been installed to replace the former Japanese-style ones, along with an ostomate-compatible toilet and a diaper-changing station, making the facilities more accessible for elderly visitors, people with disabilities, and families with young children.
