Three Prince Hotels in the Takanawa area of Tokyo — The Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo, Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa, and Grand Prince Hotel Shin-Takanawa — are set to open two outdoor pools this summer. The Diamond Pool opens on July 17, 2026, while the Sky Pool launches on July 25, 2026.
Located just about a 5-minute walk from Shinagawa Station, these hotels sit within a lush Japanese garden setting right in the heart of the city. With growing interest in nearby getaways that keep travel costs down, the two pools offer distinct resort-like atmospheres: the daytime Diamond Pool surrounded by deep greenery, and the rooftop Sky Pool for luxurious evening relaxation under the open sky.

Sky Pool
Diamond Pool (Daytime)
The Diamond Pool, located within the hotel's Japanese garden, is a garden pool surrounded by lush greenery beneath an open blue sky. Guests can refresh and unwind in an atmosphere reminiscent of a resort.
A shallow pool (0.6 m deep) is also available for young children, allowing even toddlers wearing swim diapers to join in the fun, making it a family-friendly option for summer.

Operating Period: July 17 (Fri) – August 30 (Sun), 2026
Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (last entry 3:30 PM)
Admission:

Special Event: ICE Park Day
The popular ICE Park Day event returns to the Diamond Pool for three days. Ice sculptures crafted by the hotel's ice carver — a world competition winner — are dropped into the pool, creating a wonderfully cool experience in the height of summer. In addition to the dynamic live performance, cool-themed festival activities such as ice ring toss and shooting games are available.

Venue: Diamond Pool (within the Japanese garden)
Event will be cancelled in case of rain.

Sky Pool (Nighttime)
The Sky Pool, located on the 2nd floor of Grand Prince Hotel Shin-Takanawa, is a rooftop pool offering a stunning sense of openness. Against the magical twilight sky fading into night, guests can enjoy a luxurious escape that feels far removed from the city below.
Day visitor access to the Sky Pool at nighttime is available for guests aged 16 and over.
