Takayamado Co., Ltd. (founded in Chuo-ku, Osaka; current headquarters in Nishinomiya, Hyogo; President: Yohei Takemoto) will open "Takayamado Keihan Yodoyabashi Store" inside Keihan Yodoyabashi Station on January 30, 2026 (Friday) at 10:00 AM. The new store will operate daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, offering a wide range of products from seasonal fresh wagashi to business gifts, as well as everyday snacks and casual souvenirs. Details are also available on the official website (https://www.takayamado.com/news/3094/).

Returning to the Founding Area
Takayamado was founded in 1887 (Meiji 20) in Hirano-machi, Chuo-ku, Osaka City. Although the headquarters has since moved to Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, the company has been gradually increasing its presence in Osaka again, inspired by experiences such as participating in the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo and developing official licensed products. As both Kita and Minami areas of Osaka undergo major transformations, the company has long wished to open a store once more in Yodoyabashi, a symbol of Osaka as the "city of water" and the area where it was founded. The company is truly honored to have this opportunity and strongly wishes to create a store that will be loved alongside the station for decades to come. Rather than just a wagashi shop, they aim to be a confectionery store that adds a touch of color and conversation to daily life.
Enjoy Beautiful Seasonal Wagashi at the Station
At Takayamado Keihan Yodoyabashi Store, customers can find approximately five types of seasonal fresh confections, as befits a wagashi shop. Since the opening is close to Risshun (the beginning of spring), the store plans to offer Kansai-style sakura mochi, strawberry daifuku, and the popular Tanba black bean daifuku. As Yodoyabashi is also a business district, the store will provide long-lasting gift items at various price points to meet corporate needs. Signature products include milk manju "Sweet Mermaid," "Nama-kintsuba," "Tomi Monaka," and "Mikasa" (dorayaki), with plans to introduce mizu yokan (water yokan) and jellies in summer. Almost all products can be purchased individually, so customers are encouraged to try them casually as snacks or for tasting.

Grand Opening Campaign
To commemorate the opening, two special products will be available from January 30 (Friday) to February 3 (Tuesday), 2026.
First, Takayamado will offer limited quantities of "Sekihan Manju" (red bean rice buns). These are made by steaming red bean rice prepared with Saga Prefecture's Hiyoku mochi rice and Hokkaido azuki beans, wrapped in a slightly sweet dough, and steamed a second time. This auspicious confection is perfect for this season. In the past, the red color was believed to have the power to ward off evil spirits, and azuki beans have been favored as health-promoting ingredients with beneficial medicinal properties. The company believes that red bean rice made by craftsmen with such powerful azuki beans and precious mochi rice, which has become rare in modern times, is very suitable for the launch of the new store, and offers "Sekihan Manju" with heartfelt dedication.
During the campaign period, as a special opening price, the 2-piece set normally priced at ¥519 (tax included) will be offered at ¥432 (tax included). However, quantities are limited daily, so please understand if they sell out.
Second, the "Goshomi Set," containing an assortment of Takayamado's signature products and other long-lasting sweets, will also be available in limited quantities. The set includes five types of confections, including signature products "Sweet Mermaid" and "Nama-kintsuba," normally priced at ¥1,232 (tax included), offered at ¥1,080 (tax included). This is also a daily limited item, so please understand if it sells out.

Products Available Exclusively at Keihan Yodoyabashi Store
To commemorate the opening in the Yodoyabashi and Kitahama area, there is also a playful new product available exclusively at this store in advance.
Its name is "Kitahama Pinapo." This is a fruity baked manju with juicy domestic pineapple juice packed into pineapple filling, wrapped in a milky, melt-in-your-mouth dough.
The area where Yodoyabashi Station is located has bridges spanning the Dojima River and Tosabori River from Dojima and Nakanoshima. While it's famous that the wealthy merchant "Yodoya" built Yodoyabashi Bridge at his own expense, there is another bridge beloved by citizens on Sakai-suji. That is "Naniwa Bridge." It is also known as "Lion Bridge" due to the majestic lions sitting at all four corners of the bridge.
"Kitahama Pinapo" is a baked manju born from the lion's love for the sweet and sour pineapple aroma.
The lion dreams that Kitahama Pinapo will become a traveling souvenir from the Yodoyabashi and Kitahama area to all of Japan.
The surreal lion illustration disguised as a pineapple was drawn by Kentaro Tanaka. Creative direction for the product name and packaging was handled by Ashita no Shikaku.
